Spennymoor defender Kris Thackray thinks Darlington will see Moors as underdogs ahead of tomorrow evening’s clash at The Brewery Field.
Thackray, who joined the club in the summer, played the full 90 minutes in the goalless draw with Chester on the opening day of the season.
Speaking after Saturday’s stalemate, the defender said: “Darlington will probably see us as underdogs, just like Chester likely saw us before the game on Saturday, but I think they will have gone home after the game with a bit of a shock.
“Hopefully Darlington will not show us too much respect and we will surprise them as well.
“We showed against Chester that we compete against anyone, including the big teams in the division.
“We will go into the game full of confidence and hopefully get the three points.”
Moors drew 1-1 at Blackwell Meadows in August last season before losing 1-2 at The Brewery Field in April.
