FREE TRAVEL TO QUAKERS CLASH

Spennymoor Town has today announced that it will be rewarding fans for their brilliant support against Sutton United with FREE coach travel to Darlington this Saturday.

Manager Jason Ainsley heaped praise on the club’s supporters for generating a sizzling atmosphere in last weekend’s big FA Trophy tie, after issuing a rallying call for backing two days earlier.

The supporters responded, helping roar the Moors into the Third Round Proper of the competition.

Tony Wilson, Managing Director of Spennymoor Town FC, said: “We want this to be a landmark moment in our season.  Saturday was a terrific day for everyone involved in the club and we all feel invigourated by it.  From the outstanding performance on the pitch, to the atmosphere in the stands and everything in between – that was what Spennymoor Town is all about.

“Obviously, we want this feeling to continue.  The club wants to do its bit to allow as many supporters to attend the Darlington fixture as possible, so we hope our fans respond in the same way as they did last week and fill a few coaches for Saturday.

“It’s set to be a terrific game of football and we hope to come away from Blackwell Meadows riding even higher than we currently are.

“Being drawn at home in today’s FA Trophy draw is another positive and we want to share as much of this as possible with our supporters.

“There are more announcements to come this week, which we hope will fire up the town ready to cheer the lads on in the crucial final stretch of the season as we chase promotion.”

An added bonus of travelling by bus is that it will ease congestion in and around Blackwell Meadows at full-time and allow supporters to leave the ground quicker, as well as travelling as a group.
