Hall and Harrison commit future to Moors

Despite interest from several clubs, Hall has committed his future for the club.

Ryan Hall and Scott Harrison have signed new deals with the club ahead of the 2019/20 season.

Hall, 23, signed for the club in 2017 from fellow National League North side Curzon Ashton.

Harrison, 25, joined the club in February after joining from Falkirk, and has cemented himself alongside James Curtis at the heart of the Moors defence.

After signing his new deal, Hall said: “I’ve been here two years now and I really enjoy it here. I know it’s a cliche, but I’ve made friends for life at Spennymoor.

“I’ve had injuries over my first two years so I think I still owe something to the club. Spennymoor keeps moving forward and I want to be a part of that.

“The aim is to take my form from the end of last season, carry it into the new campaign and try to avoid picking up any injuries.

“I’m glad the gaffer saw what I’m capable of and I think you will start to see the best of me now.”

Manager Jason Ainsley was delighted to tie both players down to new deals: “They are both an integral part of the club, especially Ryan who has been here two years now.

“He has shown that he is capable of some magic moments, and I think he will flourish this year with the pitch getting relaid.

“A lot of clubs were interested in him when they knew he was out of contract, so he was very much a player in demand.

Harrison joined Spennymoor from Scottish side Falkirk in February, and has scored twice since his debut.

“But he is a loyal lad. When the season finished we sat down with him and spoke to him about the new season ahead, and he knew that he wanted to be here.

“He has been unlucky with injuries, but when he is fit, he is a real asset to Spennymoor.

“Scott is a leader who was an integral part of the run at the end of the season. He is a real physical presence.

“He needs to be fitter but he knows that. He is a top local lad and we are expecting big things from him next season.”
