Moors make the trip to Brackley Town this evening looking to climb above their opponents and continue their surge up the league table.

A comfortable 2-0 win at Alfreton Town on Saturday afternoon propelled Jason Ainsley’ side one place below opponents Brackley, with only goal difference separating the two sides heading into the rearranged clash.

The Saints drew with second place Chester on Saturday, meaning their run without a win in all competitions stretched to three games. Infact, Brackley’s last win in the league was back in late September when they thrashed Bradford (Park Avenue) 8-0.

St James Park will spark good memories for Spennymoor fans after their penalty shootout victory in May’s play-off semi-final. After a goalless draw after 120 minutes, Lewis Hawkins swept in the decisive spot kick to spark a pitch invasion from the travelling Moors fans.

After collecting 13 points from their last five games, Moors are the form team in the division, and with upcoming home games against Southport and Boston in the next week, there is a chance to close the gap on Chester in second place.
