Mark Anderson scored a superb hat-trick as Spennymoor overpowered a lacklustre North Ferriby side to record their first win in five games.

Moors raced into a three-goal lead within eighteen minutes, with Anderson, Christopher Mason and Glen Taylor putting the game beyond bottom club Ferriby.

Anderson scored a further two goals either side of a Kallum Griffiths strike as Jason Ainsley’s side recorded their first win since August 22nd.

Ainsley made four changes to the side which lost 3-1 at Tamworth on Saturday, most notably brining in Jordan Porter for his first start for the club in place of Dan Lowson.

It didn’t take long for the visitors to make the breakthrough, as Anderson collected a throw-in before picking his spot and firing low and hard beyond Ross Durrant with only two minutes gone.

Moors doubled their lead six minutes later when Mason glanced in Matthew Dixon’s corner, before Glen Taylor finished off a superb team move to make it three just before the twenty-minute mark.

David Foley sprayed the ball out wide to Rob Ramshaw who crossed first time to the unmarked Taylor. The frontman netted his first goal in five games since his strike against Boston United.

Anderson scored the goal of the game to make it four, collecting the ball 25-yards out before rifling beyond a helpless Durrant. The playmaker should have completed his hat-trick before half time, but he was denied by Durrant from close range before sliding wide after good work from Ramshaw.

The second half continued in the same vein and Griffiths scored his second goal in consecutive games, curling home via the post five minutes after the interval.

A sixth goal arrived fifteen minutes from the end when substitute Graeme Armstrong fed the impressive Anderson, before he jinked past a defender and coolly slotted into the bottom corner.
