Spennymoor continued their strong start to pre-season after they hit nine in a devastating win over Pickering Town.

It rounded off a successful first week of pre-season, with Moors winning all three of their games, scoring 17 and conceding none in the process.

David Foley opened the scoring on seven minutes when he tapped in Kallum Griffith’s cutback. Moors then doubled their lead two minutes later when Glen Taylor collected Rob Ramshaw’s pass and fired past a helpless keeper.

Taylor added his second soon after, guiding a header past the keeper after brilliant work down the right from Griffiths and Ryan Hall.

It was 4-0 inside twenty minutes when Rob Ramshaw scored the goal of the game. Moors’ midfielder chested down a ball from 25 yards and fired an unstoppable into the top corner.

Ramshaw doubled his personal tally five minutes before the break, then Griffiths got on in the act immediately after, slotting in after good work from Hall.

Moors wasted no time in adding to their tally in the second period, as Foley coolly slotted home after a pinpoint through ball from Ramshaw.

It was 8-0 ten minutes later when Glen Taylor completed his hat-trick from the spot after Ryan Hall was upended.

Substitute Andrew Johnson lobbed the keeper 15 minutes from time to round off a comprehensive win.
