Spennymoor put in a clinical second half performance as they brushed aside a spirited Tadcaster Albion at the i2i Stadium.
Goals from David Foley, an Andy Milne own goal, Glen Taylor, Andrew Johnson, Jake Orrell and Jamie Chandler secured a 6-2 victory for Moors.
Tadcaster took the lead after a cagey opening 25 minutes when Josh Greening broke the offside trap and rounded Dan Lowson before tapping into an empty net.
Ryan Hall was a constant threat throughout the first half for Moors, but a mixture of gutsy defending and indecision meant his efforts were in vein.
The game turned in Spennymoor’s favour after the interval when David Foley blasted in soon after the restart despite the best efforts of a Tadcaster defender on the line.
Foley was involved again as Moors took the lead. The nippy winger raced to the bye-line before delivering a cross which took a nick of Tadcaster captain Milne, eventually dropping inside the far post.
As Tadcaster heads began to drop Moors stamped their authority on the match, with Taylor adding a third after firing in past a helpless Michael Ingham.
Jason Ainsley soon made a triple change to freshen things up, and one those subs, Johnson, quickly made an impact as he drove through the heart of the Tadcaster defence before drilling past Ingham.
The home side reduced the deficit to two with fifiteen minutes remaining when ex-Moors striker Danny Frost squared for Greening to scramble home his second of the afternoon.
Johnson almost added a fifth as a clearance struck his head an sailed wide, but it was soon game over when Orrell calmy slipped past Ingham after a neat pass from Shane Henry.
Chandler added a layer of gloss to the scoreline late on after he slammed home a loose ball in the box.
Moors travel to Dunston on Tuesday night as their preperations for the National League North season continue.
