The Moors Tavern, Spennymoor’s community pub, is launching a brand new carvery menu to the public this summer.

After a successful first 12 months of trading, the Tavern will re-launch its Sunday carvery on 6 August 2017.

Ian Hubbard, the new General Manager, was welcomed at the start of the year and has now put his own stamp on the menu and planned improvements to make the pub attractive to families.

Ian is delighted to finally open his kitchen.  He said: “Our carvery will be perfect for people in the area and we’ll run it on Sundays and Tuesdays from 6 August.

“We’re proud to offer one of the finest pub environments in Spennymoor with famous Saturday night live music events and a strong link with the football club on match days.  We can now complement that with a superb affordable carvery, which I know our regulars are going to love.”

The menu features high quality fresh Roasting Joints, Seasonal Vegetables and Yorkshire Puddings.  Adults’ carveries are priced at £6.95 for one person or £12 for two, with a child and vegetarian option available.

The Moors Tavern has enjoyed a close relationship with Spennymoor Town FC, whose staff help run the pub.

Bradley Groves, Chief Executive of the football club, said: “We felt that the time was right to build up a quality food menu for our customers.

“Many of our regulars are Spennymoor Town fans, so they have plenty to look forward to over the next 10 months with our adventure into a new league on the pitch.  We have made a concerted effort to improve both the match day experience at The Brewery Field and offer more at The Moors Tavern to make Spennymoor as a destination as attractive as possible for visitors and give the people of the town something more to enjoy.

“The plan is to develop this further and continue to develop the Tavern with more plans in the pipeline.”
