Spennymoor Town manager Jason Ainsley has won the Vanarama National League North Manager of the Month award for January.
Ainsley has guided Moors to three wins and a draw in the league, as well as securing passage to the Third Round of the FA Trophy thanks to wins over Gainsborough Trinity and Solihull Moors.
Victories over Blyth Spartans, Bradford Park Avenue and Tamworth, along with a highly creditable draw at York, have cemented Moors’ play-off credentials heading into the latter stage of the season.
After recovering his awards, Ainsley said: “I am a big believer that you are only as good as the people around you and I have a great team with the likes of Baz, Andy and in particular Tommy.
“The award is for everyone. I think the overriding factor of the positive month can be traced back to our win over Blyth on Boxing Day. You are always a bit unsure going in to the second half of the season but the winner that day was a brilliant feeling and that set us on the way for January.
“It’s nice to get an award as it’s recognition for the hard work everyone is putting in. I’m holding the trophy up on behalf of everyone connected at this football club.”
