Spennymoor goalkeeper Shane Bland has left the club by mutual consent.
The former Whitby Town stopper made eight appearances for the Moors in all competitions this season after joining the club in November 2017. But he lost his number one slot to Jordan Porter early in 2018 after a string of solid performances.
Bland has spent the last month on loan at West Auckland alongside former Moors pair Adam Mitchell and Nathan Fisher at The Wanted Stadium.
Spennymoor boss Jason Ainsley has been complementary about Bland’s time at The Brewery Field and has wished him well on behalf of the squad and the club. He said: “We’re all sorry it didn’t work out at Spennymoor for Shane, who joined with high expectations. It’s one of those things you sometimes see in football. But we wish him the best of luck with whatever club he joins next and for the rest of his career.”
