Despite the best efforts of more than 50 volunteers and club officials, Spennymoor’s match against Leamington has been postponed.
The decision has been made by the National League amidst concerns for health and safety for the Leamington officials and squad as they make the journey North.
The pitch at The Brewery Field has actually been passed playable after the superb efforts over the last week, which has united officials, staff, volunteers and local businesses. But their hard work will not be in vain as the surface has been given the opportunity for vital recovery ahead of Tuesday night’s FA Trophy replay against Bromley.
The club would once again like to thank Hartlepool United, Darlington FC, all volunteers who’ve given their time, James Burrells Builders Merchants and Buildbase UK (Sunderland) for their support. Fans are still welcome at The Brewery Field tomorrow to help remove the pitch covers.
