League sponsors Vanarama have been busy assessing the season so far – and what’s to come!
So, what has the first few weeks been like…
It’s hard to tell. It appears like a little play-off hangover for Spennymoor who have taken a point from their opening two games. But it’s still early days.
From the dugout…
Jason Ainsley hasn’t been impressed with his sides defending of late and is looking for a rapid improvement ahead of this weekend’s game. That being said, the boss said he was impressed with how his side fought back in their opening day draw against Hereford.
Biggest result so far…
A draw on the opening day might not be the rip-roaring start fans were hoping for but there were plenty of positives on show – none more so than fighting back from a goal down.
Top performer…
Ben McKenna has impressed early on with his runs and endeavour from the channels. The tricky winger is sure to be a hit over the course of the season.
Stat attack…
League position: 20th
Home goals for: N/A
Away goals for: 3
Home goals against: N/A
Away goals against: 5
Top scorer: Glen Taylor, Andrew Johnson (1)
Next up…
It’s a trip to new boys Farsley Celtic who will be hurting after two consecutive defeats. Both sides need a win so expect a right old scrap for the points!
Their one to watch….
Both Nathan Cartman and Jimmy Spencer need a close eye keeping on them. The stand-out men from last season have looked at home in the National League North so far and can get the rest of the side up for it.
Last time out….
Things have changed a lot since 2005 when the pair met in the Northern Premier League. The spoils were shared back then, can Spennymoor go one better on Saturday?
League sponsors Vanarama have recently launched the National League Club Reward scheme to help fans back their club’s budget. Every time a fan takes out a brand new van lease with Vanarama or a brand new car lease with Mototama their club will earn £100 and you will receive £30 cashback!
