Key role created within Spennymoor Town Youth FC

Spennymoor Town Youth FC is looking for a talented individual to play a key role in building the club’s growing links with the business, educational and organisational communities.
 

INTRODUCTION – COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

This position will report to the Academy Manager and will be based at our first team ground, The Brewery Field (Spennymoor Town FC).  With experience of working in a sports development/ football development role, the post holder will assist in the development of our flagship community project and play a key role in implementing a clearly defined strategy, structure and competence which aligns to our community project aims and objectives, whilst at all times adopting our #ONEClub philosophy, underpinned by our core values of PEOPLE – PURPOSE – PRIDE.
The holder will lead the implementation of a comprehensive community programme and key working relationships with local stakeholders and governing bodies to ensure a fit for purpose, “opportunity for all” programme which is both current and sustainable with evident pathways and opportunities for all.
The successful applicant will be a confident and articulate individual who values the importance of working as part of a team; can demonstrate effective strategic planning and delivery of sports and community programmes in schools and wider community; and can liaise effectively with the Academy Manager, club staff and key stakeholders.  They must also be capable of building strong relationships with local schools, clubs, councils, police and sports agencies essential to the underpinning success of the programme.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a high level of organisational skills and have a pro-active attitude to developing successful and sustainable community and school programmes.  An ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines is essential, ensuring all procedures and working practices are adhered to, assessed and amended as required.  The successful candidate should have a solid base of computer literacy, be willing to undertake continuous professional development (CPD) as required for the role and/or as organised by the Club and have experience in a sports development/ football development role.
