Scott Harrison’s contract has been terminated by mutual consent.
Harrison, 26, initially joined the club on loan from Scottish club Falkirk at the end of January, but after a successful spell with the club, signed a permanent deal following the conclusion of the 2018/19 season.
The defender played a key role alongside James Curtis as Moors reached the play-off final in May, scoring goals against York City and Curzon Ashton in April.
However, the former Hartlepool centre back suffered a long term injury in pre-season against Stockton Town, ruling him out for the entire 2019/20 campaign.
Spennymoor manager Jason Ainsley said: “Scott has had a frustrating time with his injury that he suffered back in July. After several meetings, and taking his work commitments into consideration, we felt it was best for both parties to part company.
“Scott will still be attending home games and we will be supporting him with his rehabilitation.”
