Scunthorpe defender joins on short-term loan

Moors have added another full-back to their squad with the arrival of Scunthorpe United left-back Lewis Butroid on a short term loan.

Butroid, 21, signed a contract with the Iron in 2016/17 and the following campaign was his first as a professional.

He made his first team debut as a second-year apprentice at left-back against Middlesbrough U21’s in the Checkatrade Trophy in 2016.
A Scunthorpe native, the full-back has been in the club’s academy since the age of nine.
He made 11 appearances in all competitions during his maiden season in the first team squad, before a further 10 the next year.
Butroid’s development was recognised at the 2017 EFL Awards, where he beat off competition to be named Sky Bet League One LFE Apprentice of the Year.
Spennymoor manager Jason Ainsley said: “It’s an area we needed to strengthen, so we are delighted to get Lewis in on a 28-day loan.
“He has League One experience with Scunthorpe and has all the attributes to do really well in the game, and he really wanted to join Spennymoor despite receiving offers from elsewhere.
“Hopefully he can hit the ground running for us.”
