Buddle returns to Blyth

Nathan Buddle has completed a move back to his former club Blyth Spartans following two seasons with Spennymoor Town.

Buddle, 27, signed for Moors in the summer of 2019 following a successful stint at Croft Park following several impressive seasons with Spartans.

Following a tricky start to life at The Brewery Field, Buddle soon became an established figure at the heart of the defence alongside James Curtis during the 2019/20 season.

The defender scored his first goal for the club in a 3-2 win over Altrincham with a thumping header in February 2019, before notching his second the following week against Alfreton Town.

Buddle scored once during the 2020/21 season, which was subsequently made null and void, scoring a last minute winner against Chester in September 2020.

Moors Manager Tommy Miller said: “After having discussions with Nathan over the last couple of months regarding him extending his stay at the club with a new contract, I was made aware of his current situation at work which meant he would be unable to fully commit to training and potentially games moving forward.

“With that in mind, myself and Nathan decided it would be best for him to move on elsewhere.

“I would like to thank Nathan for his time at the club and I wish him all the best for the future.”
