Spennymoor Town begin their fifth consecutive National League North campaign with their maiden visit to the Jakemans Community Stadium to face Boston United.
The Pilgrims are one of the pre-season favourites to contest the title under the stewardship of Craig Elliott, with new additions Keenan Ferguson, Danny Elliott, Jordan Preston, Shane Byrne and Joe Leesley adding to a squad packed with National League experience.
Moors boast the stronger pre-season record coming into the clash having won seven of nine fixtures, with two 2-2 draws against Sunderland and Wrexham AFC building momentum ahead of the season curtain raiser.
In contrast, Boston has won two games from seven, tasting defeat against Matlock Town, Notts County and Grimsby Town.
Meetings between the two sides have been few and far between in recent years. In fact, the last time the sides duelled was in November 2019, with Shane Henry scoring a spectacular long range winner at The Brewery Field.
Moors last travelled to Boston in August 2018, with Rob Ramshaw and Glen Taylor scoring in a 2-0 victory at Boston’s previous ground, York Street.
