Moors and Southport clash for the second time this season with a place in the Fourth Qualifying Round of the Emirates FA Cup lying in wait for the winner.
September was a contrasting month for the two sides, with Spennymoor bouncing back from two defeats at the end of August, recording three league wins and a big win over AFC Fylde in the previous round of the FA Cup.
Southport remain winless in the league after a squandering a 3-2 lead in the dying seconds against Gateshead, before going down 1-0 to Brackley Town a week later.
Liam Watson’s side ended September with a triple header against Chorley, however, after progression in the replay of their FA Cup clash, their league fixture was postponed due to Covid issues in the Magpies’ camp.
A win today would mean either side could be within 90 minutes of the FA Cup First Round when Football League sides enter the competition.
