Injury update: Curtis, Anderson and Lufudu

The club can now provide an update on James Curtis and Mark Anderson after the pair sustained injuries in Tuesday evenings Emirates FA Cup defeat at Southport.

Curtis, who was substituted after 30 minutes at The Pure Stadium, is expected to be out for a few weeks after being assessed by Club Physiotherapist Andy Oates on Thursday evening.

Oates said: “James sustained a low grade medial collateral ligament injury on Tuesday. We are hopeful he will be close to returning to action in a few weeks.

“He will miss this weekend’s fixture against AFC Telford United at The Brewery Field and will be closely monitored ahead of games against Curzon Ashton, AFC Fylde and Kidderminster Harriers later in the month.

“Mark complained of a sudden onset sharp right groin pain when he over stretched on Tuesday and it looks to be an adductor tendon injury.

“Thankfully things have settled and he will return to full training next week, but like James, he will be out of this weekend’s game.”

John Lufudu, who picked up an ankle injury in the 1-1 FA Cup draw at Fylde in September, is on the way to resuming training.

“John is making significant progress with a syndesmosis ankle injury and he will start running again this weekend.”
