Luke Spokes’ loan from National League side Grimsby Town has been extended until the end of the 2021/22 season.
Spokes, 21, has started eight games since his arrival in late November 2020, as well as making four substitute appearances.
The midfielder netted his first goal for the club in the 4-2 win over Chester in mid-December, and has since added cup goals against Plymouth Parkway in the FA Trophy and Whickham in the Durham Challenge Cup.
Joint-Manager Anthony Johnson was delighted to secure the services of Spokes to the end of the campaign.
He said: “Luke has been excellent since we’ve come to Spennymoor. His work ethic and willingness to listen and learn stand out, as well as his fantastic footballing brain.
“We are delighted that he will be staying with us until the end of the season and would like to thank Grimsby for allowing the extension.”
