Welcome, Jordan Preston!

Jordan Preston has completed a move to Spennymoor Town ahead of the final two months of the campaign.

Preston, 26, arrives at The Brewery Field from fellow National League North side Boston United where he netted once over the course of the 2021/22 campaign.

The forward started his career with Blackburn Rovers, representing the Lancashire club at Under 18, U21 and U23 level, with a successful loan spell at Ayr, in which he helped the Scottish side gain promotion, intersected in between.

Following the conclusion of his time with Rovers, Preston gained National League experience with Guiseley, Gateshead and FC Halifax Town before his switch to The Pilgrims.

Preston’s arrival further bolsters Moors’ attacking options following the recent acquisitions of Jordan Thewlis, Jude Oyibo and Claudio Ofosu.

“It only take three or four wins to be back in amongst a wide open play-off race.

After signing for the club, Preston said: “There has been interest from Spennymoor for quite a while now so it’s something I’ve always been aware of.

It’s a top club at this level and is known for being a challenger.

I want to play for the best teams at this level and I feel like with the players, management staff and infrastructure at Spennymoor, they are definitely one of them.

I’ve came up against Spennymoor a lot in my career and I know the style of play that is associated with them, and I feel like it fits the way I play the game very well.

There’s still a lot of football to be played this season, and with the run of fixtures to come, it only take three or four wins to be back in amongst a wide open play-off race.

I’m looking forward to being here for the next 15 moths or so and I can’t wait to get started.”

Joint Manager Anthony Johnson said: “This is a huge coup for the club. Jordan is someone we have watched and courted for the last few years.

“When we became aware of his availability, we had to act quickly.

He has unbelievable technical ability that will flourish in this side alongside the other forward players, and we can’t wait to see them all linking up.

With Glen, Rob, Jordan Thewlis and now Jordan Preston all signed up for at least the next 18 months, our plans for the longer term are starting to come to fruition.”
