A double from Liam Nolan ended Moors’ recent run of impressive form on an afternoon to forget at Telford.
Nolan pounced in the area after Moors failed to clear a corner, before the midfielder flicked Brendon Daniels’ wicked delivery in at the near post in the second half.
Spennymoor’s misery was compounded later in the half when Jordan Amissah was shown a straight red card following an incident with Jason Oswell.
Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley named an unchanged squad from the side who drew 0-0 with Kidderminster Harriers on Tuesday evening.
Quick thinking almost gave Spennymoor an early lead when Jordan Thewlis cut the ball back to Rob Ramshaw, but the midfielder’s cute flick rolled marginally wide.
Telford took just shy of ten minutes to make an impact in Moors’ area, but forced a corner when Devarn Green’s shot was chested behind by Joe Tait.
Spennymoor cleared the first corner but were thankful to the reactions of Amissah after Oswell’s point blank header was tipped over the bar.
However, third time proved to be a charm for Telford, when, Moors failed to clear the corner, Nolan thumped in the opener after 12 minutes.
That goal provided a buoyant home side with a serious surge of momentum and a strong run from James Melhado almost forced a second from the restart.
Oswell then lifted a shot onto the roof of the net following a deep cross as Moors struggled to stem a tide of pressure.
Moors were a pale imitation of the side who had enjoyed a six-game unbeaten run heading into the clash in the opening 25 minutes, coincidentally on a ground they had never won.
Mark Anderson, who was enjoying his longest run in the side since the 2019/20 season, was forced off with injury on the half hour mark, with Jude Oyibo’s introduction ushering a change of formation.
Spennymoor showed improvement immediately after the restart, with Oyibo being denied a shot following a strong but fair challenge from Reiss McNally.
However, defensive vulnerabilities came back to haunt Moors seven minutes into the second half, with Daniels’ teasing corner being flicked in at the front post by Nolan for his second of the afternoon.
Spennymoor’s day turned from bad to worse when Amissah reacted following Oswell’s attempt to deny him a quick throw, with the referee immediately brandishing the red card.
Harry Flatters was introduced in place of Jordan Preston as the ten-men of Moors came under severe pressure, with only a flurry of last ditch blocks and challenges stopping a third for The Bucks.
