The best photos of Moors’ season

Following the first full football campaign for Moors since the 2018/19 season, club photographer David Nelson chose his favourite moments caught by his camera lens over a turbulent nine months.

The photos have been selected in chronological order from the start of the season.

1. GLEN TAYLOR VS AFC TELFORD

“The season got off to a great start which included a long overdue win over Telford. As soon as Glen ran towards me, I knew these were going to be good pics. It ended up being chosen of the National League picture of the week.”

2. YOUNG FANS VS ALFRETON TOWN

“For me this season, one of the most pleasing things has been the enthusiasm of our young fans. They are the future and long may it continue.”

3. DALE EVE PENALTY SAVE VS CHORLEY

“Another hoodoo banished (well partly, not sure I will ever fully recover from that playoff final defeat). But, a penalty shootout win over Chorley in the FA Trophy was some consolation. Dale Eve the hero.”

4. THE RETURN OF AINSLEY

“Guess who’s back!? After Tommy’s departure there was only one man to hold the fort and Jay certainly didn’t disappoint with a dramatic win over Chester.”

5. BERNARD MORLEY AND ANTHONY JOHNSON

“It’s the blokes off the TV! I don’t mind admitting I was a bit daunted meeting these guys for the first time. Turns out though they don’t shout all the time and are thoroughly nice blokes. Looking forward to seeing what they can achieve with a full pre-season of preperation.”

6. MOORS FANS IN THE CAPITAL

“What a fantastic turnout from the Moors fans, making the 500+ mile round trip to the ‘Big Smoke’ for our Trophy 5th Round tie with Dagenham and Redbridge.”

7. AUTUMN COLLEDGE FOR MOORS LADIES VS BISHOP

“Ahh! The ‘Battle of the Brewery Field’. In front of over 200 supporters in awful conditions, Moors Ladies secured a league double over local rivals Bishop Auckland in a brutal encounter. Here is top scorer Autumn Colledge busting out the knee slide celebration.”

8. GLEN TAYLOR'S RECORD GOAL VS KETTERING

“Having already equaled Gavin Cogdon’s scoring record for Spennymoor Town, this was the goal that put Glen at the top of the charts. Phenomenal achievement, from a phenomenal player. Long may the goals rain!”

9. JUDE OYIBO'S LAST MINUTE EQUALISER VS BRACKLEY

“A big moment that rekindled our playoff hopes against high flying Brackley. This one gets filed under ‘Celebration shots where they didn’t run away from me’. Nice!”

10. AWAY FANS VS YORK CITY

“Once again, another fantastic away following and atmosphere created on our first trip to York’s new stadium.”

11. SPENNYMOOR LADIES VS NORTON

“It’s been another excellent season for the Moors Ladies. Okay, no third promotion in a row but they are playing experienced and established teams now. I look forward to seeing them play on a more regular basis at the Brewery Field next season, as Dom Bylett has pulled together a fantastic group and they really deserve it.”

12. TUSSLING AT GUISELEY

“One from our final away game of the season at Guiseley. You tell me what’s going on are they loving or fighting? Who knows. Probably sums up the season in a nutshell. Its been a bit mad!”
