Moors Appoint New Head Of Media

The club is delighted to confirm the appointment of Mark Simpson as its new Media & Communications Manager.

Mark will replace Jack Franks who is leaving Moors after almost five years of exceptional service looking after the club’s media output across all channels.

Having spent the past two decades working in media in professional football, Mark brings a wealth of experience to The Brewery Field and has already begun his new role with the club.

Mark was previously Head of Media at Hartlepool United for more than 18 years before spending the last two seasons helping Barrow establish a professional media operation following their promotion to the EFL in 2020.

“I’d like to sincerely thank Jack for all of his hard work during his time at the club,” commented General Manager, Ian Geldard.

“It’s in no small part through Jack’s effort that The Brewery Field stands out from the crowd in terms of the look-and-feel, and the branding right around the ground. Whether it be the quality of the matchday programme, social media content or co-commentary, he leaves a lasting and visible legacy as a huge part of Spennymoor’s story over the last few years.

“Everyone at the club congratulates Jack on his new job, and we wish him all the best for the future.

“I am delighted to welcome Mark Simpson to his role. Mark comes with a fantastic pedigree in football media and great experience from Hartlepool and Barrow.

“He is a solid appointment who will continue to see Spennymoor lead the way in professional content, branding and marketing as we continue to progress as a club.”
