Preview: Moors v AFC Telford United

Take a look at everything you need to know ahead of Saturday’s game with a full and in-depth preview of the action at The Brewery Field.

Spennymoor Town v AFC Telford United
Saturday 13th August 2022, 3pm
National League North
The Brewery Field

In Opposition
AFC Telford United got off to the perfect start last weekend when they ran out 1-0 winners against Chorley thanks to Devarn Green’s goal just before half time.

It was the second season in succession that The Bucks had beaten Chorley on home soil on the opening day and they will hope last Saturday’s win gives them a platform for a strong campaign.

Paul Carden’s men finished third from bottom last term, but they have real aspirations of having a say much further up the National League North table this time around and the win over Chorley gave lots of reasons for encouragement.

One To Watch
Moors will have to be on their guard against the threat of Nate Blissett who is expected to lead the line for Telford at The Brewery Field on Saturday.

The powerful forward joined The Bucks during the summer following a two-year spell at Maidenhead United and offer a real physical presence and a focal point for their attacks.

Born in West Bromwich, Blissett has bags of experience too, having won National League promotion with Macclesfield Town and played in the EFL for Tranmere Rovers.

On The Whistle
The man in the middle this for the weekend game is James Bancroft and he will be assisted by Dan Ranson and Paul Mosely.
