Preview: Leamington v Moors

Leamington v Spennymoor Town
Saturday 20th August 2022, 3pm
National League North
Your Co-Op Community Stadium

In Opposition
Leamington have enjoyed an encouraging start to the new National League North campaign and remain unbeaten ahead of Moors’ trip to Your Co-Op Community Stadium this weekend.

The Brakes thrashed Farsley Celtic 4-0 on the opening day and have backed that up with creditable draws on the road at Kidderminster Harriers and Buxton.

The Warwickshire outfit have real stability at the helm, with boss Paul Holleran having been in charge since 2009, during which time he has overseen more than 600 games.

Having finished 15th last term, Leamington will be hoping to build on their promising opening week and have a say much further up the National League North table in 2022/23.

One To Watch
Dan Turner made an impressive start to the season when he grabbed two goals in The Brakes’ opening day destruction of Farsley Celtic.

The front man joined Leamington in the summer of 2021 but has previous Football League experience having started his career with Port Vale.

Still only 24, Turner hit the net 18 times during his debut season with Leamington and will be hoping he can fire even more during 2022/23 after getting off the mark early.

On The Whistle
Ben Wyatt is the man in the middle for this weekend’s National League North encounter between Leamington and Spennymoor Town at Your Co-Op Community Stadium.

He will be assisted by Harley Hetherington and Lewis Mansfield-King on Saturday.
