Preview: AFC Fylde v Moors

We turn our attentions to this evening’s action with a full and in-depth preview of Moors’ National League North trip to Mill Farm.

AFC Fylde v Spennymoor Town
Tuesday 27th September 2022, 7.45pm
National League North
Mill Farm

In Opposition
AFC Fylde have enjoyed an encouraging start to the new campaign, and they lie third in the National League North table ahead of this evening encounter with Moors at Mill Farm.

The Coasters have won six of their nine league fixtures so far this season and also made progress in the FA Cup, so optimism is high among supporters.

They were comfortable 3-1 winners over Bradford (Park Avenue) at the weekend to make it four wins from five and back-up a solid point away at Kidderminster Harriers.

Former Chesterfield boss James Rowe is in charge at AFC Fylde now, after he arrived to succeed Jim Bentley in the Mill Farm hotseat in March.

One To Watch
Midfield star Nick Haughton has been one of AFC Fylde’s standout performers since joining the club from Salford City in October 2018.

The former Fleetwood Town man, who turned 28 last week, has been in superb form so far in 2022/23 and has already hit the net seven times this term.

Haughton was originally on the books at Bolton Wanderers but is now one of The Coasters’ key players as they look to secure promotion back to the National League.

Head To Head
Moors haven’t enjoyed a good record against AFC Fylde in the past – indeed, The Coasters have run out winners on each of the three occasions the clubs have met previously.

They were 1-0 victors at The Brewery Field back in March as they completed a National League North double last season following a 2-0 triumph at Mill Farm last October.

On The Whistle
Shaun Taylor is the man in the middle for this evening’s contest against AFC Fylde, and he will be assisted by Emily Carney and Simon Robinson at Mill Farm.
