Jason Ainsley has confirmed that a number of senior players will be involved when Moors host Shildon in the Durham County Cup at The Brewery Field this evening (7.45pm kick-off).
The Interim Manager is keen to give some of the players in his First Team squad minutes on the pitch and the chance to shine as they look to force their way into the starting line-up.
Tonight’s First Round tie offers the perfect opportunity and Ainsley is hoping for a competitive and enjoyable game for Moors fans to come along and watch.
“The Durham County Cup is a competition in which we have a great history,” he told us.
“Having said that, I have to admit that it still haunts me that we lost that Final to Shildon all those years ago!
“This evening’s tie gives lads who haven’t had as much game time as they would have liked to come into the team and impress.
“It’s also a good platform for us to integrate some of our Under-18s, who have done so well in the FA Youth Cup this year, in to the First Team fold, so we’re all looking forward to it.”
Cash and card turnstiles will be in operation at this evening’s game with admission priced reduced to just £5 for Adults, £3 for Concessions (over 60) and £1 for Juniors (under 18).
