Preview: Kettering Town v Moors

We turn the spotlight on Saturday’s National League North action with a full and in-depth preview of Moors’ trip to Latimer Park.

Kettering Town v Spennymoor Town
Saturday 15th October 2022, 3pm
National League North
Latimer Park

In Opposition
Kettering Town will be looking for a reaction when they play host to Moors this weekend after being beaten 5-0 on their last outings at Scarborough Athletic.

The Poppies have lost three of their last four games but did enjoy a surprise victory over King’s Lynn Town in their previous home fixture so Moors know they will face a difficult task.

Former Nottingham Forest, Port Vale and Rotherham United striker Lee Glover is currently in charge at Kettering after he took over in the summer following a spell as assistant at Rushden & Diamonds.

They currently lie third bottom in the National League North table but know that victory this Saturday would move them within one point of Moors.

One To Watch
Versatile attacker Andrew Oluwabori has impressed since joining Kettering on loan from Peterborough United at the start of the season.

Comfortable on the right wing or up front, the youngster has helped himself to four National League North goals already this season and will need to be well marshalled on Saturday.

Oluwabori has come through the ranks with Posh and gained senior experience with a loan spell at Boreham Wood during the second half of last term.

Head To Head
Moors have enjoyed a good recent record against Kettering Town having won three of the four meetings between the clubs since 2019.

Indeed, Moors enjoyed a National League North double over The Poppies last term. We ran out 2-1 winners at Latimer Park in September thanks to goals from Ryan Hall and Glen Taylor before winning by the same scoreline on home soil in March when Jordan Thewlis and Taylor found the net.

On The Whistle
The referee for Saturday’s encounter at Latimer Park is Jonathan Maskrey and he will be assisted by Callum Gough and Minesh Gupta.
