Club Offering Stadium As Winter Hub

Moors in the Community are set to launch another fantastic new initiative to combat the cost-of-living crisis by offering up The Brewery Field as a warm hub for elderly and isolated people.

The scheme will see the stadium opened up to the community between 11am and 12.30pm every Tuesday and Wednesday, with meals provided at low cost to those who need them most. Even if the meals are not for you, please come down and use our amazing facilities. We have darts, dominoes, a pool table and three flat screen televisions for use.

Every Tuesday and Wednesday starting from the 1st of November, visitors will be able to come along to The Brewery Field and enjoy a warm main meal for just £3 and a delicious dessert for only £1.

Plus, even if you can’t make it along in-person, Moors in the Community also offer a free delivery service throughout the town and surrounding areas.

It’s the latest in a long line of work being put in by the Club’s community arm to reach out to the most vulnerable people in Spennymoor and the County Durham region as a whole.

“It is vitally important that we, as a community, come together during these uncertain times to provide care for the most vulnerable people in our area,” explained Community Manager, Luke Cowie.

“By introducing this new project, we are hoping to ease some of the burden placed on people during the cost-of-living crisis and we’re encouraging as many people as possible to come and join us.

“Keep the gas and electric off at home for an hour or two and come along to experience our amazing facilities at The Brewery Field.

“Hopefully, this small act of kindness can impact on many people across our community and generate a positive footprint throughout the impending winter months.”

To book your meal simply contact Luke before 12noon each Monday at [email protected] or on 07598 970 095.
