Moors Ladies return to NERWFL Northern Division action on Sunday when they make the trip to face Pools Youth (2pm kick-off).
Billy Shackleton’s side are in excellent form at the moment and make the short trip this weekend on the back on an impressive six-game unbeaten run in all competitions.
However, the hosts have started the season in solid fashion themselves so Shackleton and his player cannot afford any drop in standards on Sunday.
“The league is our main priority, and we know we’ll have to be at our best come away with three points this weekend,” he told us.
Shackleton is sweating on the fitness of top scorer Autumn Colledge who is battling an ankle injury, while recent signing Lily Jackson is struggling with a groin problem and could miss out.
With forwards Kira Whittle and Holly Middleton both set to undergo late fitness tests, the Moors boss may have to shuffle his pack for the weekend encounter.
The game at Pools Youth is a 2pm kick-off and takes place at High Tunstall School where it is free admission for all supporters.
Meanwhile, Moors Ladies have been handed a tough draw against Women’s National League Division One side Norton & Stockton Ancients in the quarter-final of the County Cup. The tie is due to take place at East Durham College’s Houghall Campus on Sunday 15th January 2023 (1.30pm kick-off).
