We’re Bringing Quality Players In – Ainsley

Jason Ainsley has thanked the Chairman for his continued backing after he was able to strengthen the squad with the signing of two new players this week.

Moors paid an undisclosed fee to bring attacking midfield star Corey McKeown to the Club from Blyth Spartans, while former Blackburn Rovers and Scunthorpe United defender Lewis Thompson also checked-in at The Brewery Field.

Boss Ainsley has revealed that work continues behind the scenes to attract further new faces to the Club and is sure that the two newest recruits will prove popular with Moors fans.

“It’s been a difficult couple of weeks because there have been more outgoings than incomings,” Ainsley told us.

“Generally, when you’re a supporter – and I am a supporter as well – it’s always a worry but behind the scenes there has been a lot of work going on but until you see that dotted line signed nobody believes that.

“I am delighted now because we’ve made two quality additions in areas that we needed to strengthen, in my opinion.

“The Chairman has always backed this Club and he’s continuing to do so because we’ve got these two quality signings in now and hopefully there will be one more next week as well.

“I’m hoping that excites the fans because we’re not just bringing in squad players here, we’re bringing in quality players with these two and the ones who have come in before too.

“The Chairman will always put his money where his mouth is, but he wants to see hungry, young players and the players we’ve brought in fit the bill.”
