Moors have completed the signing of midfielder Elliott Whitehouse on a one-month loan deal from National League outfit Scunthorpe United.
The 29-year-old Worksop-born star joined The Iron during the summer after winning a one-year deal on the back of a successful pre-season trial.
A product of Sheffield United’s Academy, Whitehouse captained the young Blades side who reached the 2010/11 FA Youth Cup Final and went on to make five senior appearances for the club.
He gained further First Team experience on loan at York City and Alfreton Town before signing a permanent deal with Notts County in 2014 and then FC Halifax Town the following year.
However, it was a spell with Nuneaton Town which re-ignited the talented midfielder’s career as he smashed home 20 goals in 45 National League North appearances to earn a move to Lincoln City.
He went on to make 77 appearances for The Imps, scoring ten goals and helping The Imps to win promotion to the Football League, enjoy a memorable FA Cup run and hitting the decisive goal in their EFL Trophy Final triumph.
The former England C international then spent two years at Grimsby Town before moving on for a two-year stint at Forest Green prior to his summer switch to Glanford Park.
“I am delighted that Elliott has decided to join us on loan because I know there was lots of interest from other clubs in our division,” revealed Moors boss Jason Ainsley.
“He is a player who has a massive amount of Football League experience and game management skills which I feel will benefit us immensely during a hectic schedule in the coming weeks.
“I have had lengthy conversations with Elliott, so I know how much desire he has to be playing regular football so we’re really looking forward to working with him and getting the best out of him during his time with us.”
Whitehouse has been handed squad number 26 and will go straight into contention for a Moors debut in our National League North game at Brackley Town on Saturday.
