First Team stars Joe Tait and Rob Ramshaw were among those who pitched in on Wednesday as Moors in the Community delivered dozens of Christmas food parcels to people in the town.
Ladies Team boss Billy Shackleton and player Amber Hopps also joined the efforts with those in most need given parcels consisting of products such as cereals, pastas, biscuits and fruit juice.
Moors in the Community appealed for donations towards the campaign, and they also benefited from a large donation from the Club’s Chief Executive Brad Groves which allowed them to buy even more supplies for those that need them most this Christmas.
“It’s important we all rally round and help each other this Christmas so it was a pleasure to be able to do our bit with the food parcels,” explained Community Development Manager, Luke Cowie.
“We were overwhelmed by the generosity of our supporters, sponsors and our Business Club who all made donations which exceeded our expectations, and obviously Brad’s big cash donation helped the cause further.
“I am thankful to Joe, Rob, Billy and Amber for giving up their time to help us deliver the parcels, as well as all the other Club staff who played their part.”
