Moors First Team Coach Lewis Dickman has been broadening his coaching horizons over the weekend after taking up an invite to attend a convention in Canada.
Dickman flew out to New Brunswick last Thursday to attend the annual event, which boasted the Development Coach for Canada Soccer’s men’s and women’s game as their keynote speaker.
Around 200 coaches from teams all across Canada and the world assembled for the convention, which ran from Friday through to Sunday.
“It was a real honour to be there and be part of it,” Dickman told us.
“With the coaching background and experience I have had I always enjoy doing things like that which can help me fresh.
“I am constantly looking for ways to develop and find new ideas, which will obviously benefit the training methods and the work we do at Spennymoor with the gaffer and Jamie Chandler.
“I’m really pleased to have been able to go over there, and I embraced every minute even if it was absolutely freezing!
“Hopefully I can bring back some things back with me to improve the quality of my work at Spennymoor which can, in turn, help improve the players and keep the Club moving forward.”
