Moors Ladies Back At The Brewery Field

The Club is celebrating its continued commitment to Moors Ladies with the announcement that their fixture against Guisborough Town will be played at The Brewery Field on Friday 24th February.

It will be the third time this season that the Ladies Team have played at the main stadium, and it’s hoped that a bumper crowd can come along to enjoy some Friday night football.

This latest announcement is another example of the Club reaffirming its desire to help Moors Ladies continue to progress by offering ongoing and enhanced support on and off the pitch.

“We’ve said a number of times that we have a ‘One Club’ mentality at Spennymoor Town and our Ladies Team are a huge part of that,” explained General Manager, Ian Geldard.

“The two games they have played at The Brewery Field this season have been a huge success and we want to give them the platform to keep on progressing in the years to come.

“Football is a sport for everyone and we are proud to see Moors Ladies representing our Club so well, both in terms of their professionalism off the field and their excellent performances on it.”

Billy Shackleton’s side moved third in the North East Regional Women’s Football League Northern Division on Sunday after enjoying a brilliant 2-1 win away at Chester-le-Street United.

They remain in the mix for promotion to the Premier Division and are hoping that the support from the Club and its fans can help get them over the line.

“The backing we’ve had from the Club this season has been superb and we’re really looking forward to playing another game at The Brewery Field,” Shackleton commented.

“The girls have been superb this season, we’ve put ourselves in a position where we can challenge for the title and we really appreciate all the fans who have come out and supporters us.

“We would love to get a really big crowd into The Brewery Field to show even more Moors fans what we’re all about and I know it would mean the world to the players.”

Kick-off against Guisborough Town on Friday 24th February is 7pm and tickets are on sale online now priced at just £3, though Under-12s can get in for free. Cash and card turnstiles will also be in operation on the night.
