Moors Ladies Run Riot At Brewery Field

Moors Ladies underlined their promotion credentials with an irresistible performance in front of a record crowd at The Brewery Field to thump eight unanswered goals past Guisboruogh Town.

Almost 350 fans came along to cheer the Club’s in-form Ladies Team on as they extended their unbeaten run to an astonishing 11 games and put pressure on leaders Wallsend.

Victory for Billy Shackleton’s side rarely looked in doubt from the moment Meg Foster slid home the opening goal with just eight minutes gone; the forward may have profited from a lucky ricochet on the edge of the area but she produced a clinical finish for 1-0.

It was 2-0 just before the half-hour when a low delivery in from the left was expertly swept across goal and into the top corner by Hannah Knox.

The third goal arrived shortly afterwards when a well-worked throw-in down the right was lifted across goal by Courtney Mole and found its way to the back post where Hannah Knox converted.

Moors helped themselves to a fourth goal on the stroke of half time as an incisive pass from Autumn Colledge set Foster through on goal and she produced another tidy finish for 4-0.

Foster could have had a hat-trick early in the second half but for a good save, though Moors did make it 5-0 on the hour when Lily Jackson latched on to a through ball and rounded the keeper to slide home.

The prolific Autumn Colledge finally got their goal on 66 minutes after brilliant work from Jackson down the right whose low ball into the front post was slammed home by Moors’ top scorer.

And Autumn Colledge had a second goal with 15 minutes remaining as a dangerous delivery from her sister Coral Colledge was nodded in from close range for 7-0.

Lovely football down the left hand side saw Drew Seymour’s pass cut open the Guisborough defence and the ball across was superbly knocked in first time by Jackson to round off the scoring.
