Moors defender Lewis Thompson has joined Ashton United on loan for the remainder of the 2022/23 campaign.

The left-back arrived at The Brewery Field in November following his release from Scunthorpe United but he’s found game time hard to come by with Moors.

Boss Jason Ainsley has now given the go-ahead for the 23-year-old to make a move to Ashton and he’s agreed a loan deal which will run until the end of the season.

Thompson will now be in contention to make his debut for the Northern Premier League outfit when they make the trip to Matlock Town on Saturday.
