Chris Rowcroft was honoured by Spennymoor Town Supporters’ Club on Saturday as a token of appreciation for the many years he’s volunteered as Moors’ Videographer.
A talented individual, Chris has been the man behind the camera for Moors for almost two decades and has travelled countless miles around the country to cover the action.
His brilliant footage is a core part of our media output and without his loyal dedication we would not be able to offer the same level of coverage for supporters, particularly on games away from home.
More recently, he has taken up a regular position pitchside at The Brewery Field where is keen eye ensures we get a superb alternative angle of every kick of the action and he’s captured some wonderful moments for fans to enjoy.
Prior to Saturday’s game against Chorley last Saturday, the Supporters’ Club arranged to make a presentation to him during which he was given a great ovation from fans he’s served since 2005.
“Chris’ dedication to Moors over such a long period of time is incredible,” explained Moors’ Media & Communications Manager, Mark Simpson.
“His enthusiasm for filming our matches has never waned and he’s shown amazing commitment travelling the length and breadth of the land – and often perched in some random places to capture the action!
“He’s even managed to get along to some of our Ladies Team games this season too which has also enabled us to enhance our coverage in that area too.
“It’s a wonderful gesture from the Supporters’ Club and one the Club itself is right behind because Spennymoor Town is built on people like Chris – we’re lucky to have him.”
