Zak Goodson has admitted he can’t wait to pull on a black and white shirt to get started with Moors after joining the Club on loan from Altrincham on Thursday.
The front man scored over 20 goals for Ilkeston Town last season which earned him his move to Altrincham but he’s suffered a frustrating first season and fractured his wrist whilst on loan at Boston United.
Now back to fitness, the 22-year-old is completely focused on getting some games under his belt and getting back to his best – and he hopes that can be of benefit to Jason Ainsley’s side during the run-in.
“Obviously I have seen how well the Club has been doing and I just want to try and help the team push for the play-offs now,” Goodson told us.
“I’ve been desperate to play games as I come back from the injury I had over Christmas when I went to Boston, so hopefully I can get a good run with Spennymoor now.
“It’s a great opportunity for me to play; my whole life revolves around football, whether it’s playing of the coaching I do, so it’s been a frustrating time but now I am really looking forward to my time with Moors.
“I spoke to the gaffer earlier in the week and he seems like a top man. He told me the ambitions for the Club and what the targets are for the rest of the season and it’s really exciting.”
Goodson is now in contention for a Moors debut on Saturday when they play host to Brackley Town at The Brewery Field – click here for information on buying tickets for the game.
