We turn our attentions to the weekend action with and full and in-depth preview of Brackley Town’s National League North visit to The Brewery Field.

Spennymoor Town v Brackley Town
Saturday 25th March 2023, 3pm
National League North
The Brewery Field

In Opposition
Brackley Town arrive in County Durham this weekend sitting fourth in the National League North table and looking to recapture their very best form for the run-in.

Roger Johnson’s men have been up at the top end challenging for promotion for the majority of the season but they have tasted victory just once in their last seven outings.

Their home form has been outstanding during 2022/23 but back-to-back draws against King’s Lynn Town and Blyth Spartans at St James Park have left Saints fans frustrated.

Now they’re entering into a potentially critical period of the campaign with their trip to Moors the first of three consecutive away fixtures.

One To Watch
The form of Callum Stead will be one of the key factors for Brackley Town as they look to maintain their challenge for promotion to the National League in the coming weeks.

Comfortable in a central striking role or playing off the left, Stead made the move to St James Park during the summer following a short stint in the colours of South Shields.

He’s hit the net 13 times for The Saints so far this term and he will be hoping to add a few more before the end of the campaign with the stakes getting higher with every passing week.

Head To Head
Moors have won just one game in the past 11 encounters with The Saints, who have won three of the last four meetings between the sides.

The single victory celebrated by Moors came in April 2019 when goals from Ryan Hall and Glen Taylor secured a 2-1 triumph.

On The Whistle
David McNamara will be the man in the middle for Saturday’s game at The Brewery Field, and he will be assisted by Mark Bell and Sam Parnaby.
