Another record crowd watched on at The Brewery Field as Moors Ladies thumped Pools Youth 5-0 to clinch their promotion to the NERWFL Premier Division.

Lily Jackson scored twice and Hannah Knox drilled in a wonderful goal as Billy Shackleton’s side raced into a 3-0 lead inside 14 minutes to settle any nerves and delight the 404 in attendance.

Kira Whittle added a fourth goal just after the hour before top scorer Autumn Colledge got in on the act on 79 minutes to add gloss to the victory and kick-off wild celebration at the final whistle.

It represents Moors Ladies’ third promotion in four years and will see them playing in the fifth tier of women’s football during the 2023/24 campaign.
