There was a brilliant response to Moors in the Community’s first Disability Football Session last week as 12 local youngsters turned up enjoy the brand new initiative.
Our weekly sessions are taking place at Kirk Merrington Primary School each Thursday evening between 5.30pm and 6.30pm – and to celebrate the launch we gave children the chance to take part in the first one for FREE!
Youngsters between the ages of 8 and 16 enjoyed a brilliant range of footballing activities which focused on improving skills, whilst the session also allowed them to socialise with new and existing friends.
“We’re looking to encourage all children to participate in the sport they love, regardless of any perceived barriers they may face,” explained Moors’ Community Development Manager, Luke Cowie.
“After the success of the first week’s session and the brilliant number of children we had come along, I can only see it growing bigger and bigger, so we’re excited about what lies ahead.”
