The Moors Index: Paul Blackett

Front man Paul Blackett steps into the spotlight to pick out ten questions at random from our index of 100 and then try to keep us mildly entertained with his answers! Go…

9 What’s your most vivid childhood memory?
I think one of the earliest things I can remember was going to Disneyland Paris with my mam and my sister. I think I was probably only about 7 at the time but I can really clearly remember that we went up the Eiffel Tower and we were in some sort of restaurant about halfway up.

15 What was the last book you read?
Do you know what, I am just not a reader at all. I have tried a few times to get into it but I just don’t get into it; it’s not something I have ever really enjoyed.

30 When were you last nervous?
I think I probably have a few nerves before every game. I remember feeling very nervous before the first game of the season when I was playing for Gateshead because it was my first time in that level of football. I scored after five minutes though I was more settled after that!

62 What’s your favourite pizza topping?
Pizzas are actually my last choice when it comes to takeaway sort of food and I’m not that keen. If I was to get one it would be pepperoni, maybe one of those American Hot ones from Domino’s.

70 If you could swap places with any person, living or dead, for a week who would it be?
That’s a good question, that. There are so many people I can think of – all for different reasons. I would probably go for Lewis Hamilton because he gets to go all around the world with Formula One and I have always fancied having a go in one of those cars. So, let’s try that out for a week!

80 VAR – yes or no?
Yes. I wouldn’t say I am a massive fan of the way VAR is used but I am a fan of having it because often it works perfectly. I think much of the problem is the people using it, though it’s still off someone’s opinion, isn’t it? I just think if you took it out for one round of games, everyone would be screaming for it back.

2 When did you last get angry?
I wouldn’t say I get angry that often, to be honest. I was pretty angry at half time in the Runcorn Linnets game last season because I had a little injury again and had to come off. I can’t remember getting angry really other than that!

94 Do you sing in the shower?
Yes, absolutely! I always have some music on when I am in the shower, and I will just belt out whatever comes on! I don’t mind admitting that I have a sing song every now and then!

55 Table for five – who are you four dinner guests?
Ooh! Well, Connor McGregor has got to be there because I think it’s just funny the way he goes on. Kevin Bridges would get an invite – he’s hilarious. Gary Neville would be there – I could listen to him all day, I think he’s a really good speaker and I always watch the full Monday Night Football build-up. And Roger Federer. I love watching tennis and he would have some great stories, I am sure.

32 Has a film ever made you cry?
I thought one might have but given I can’t think of any then I presume I’ve never cried at a film. I have got emotional watching a few before but I don’t think I’ve been made to actually cry.
