Connor Shanks has put pen to paper on an improved deal with the Club after impressing during his first four months at The Brewery Field.
The attacking midfielder made 19 appearances for Moors in the second half of last season following his move from Huddersfield Town in January.
Shanks scored on his debut from the bench against Darlington and also found the net in dramatic fashion to rescue a share of the points against Scarborough Athletic in February.
The Club initially took up the option on his existing contract but now the 21-year-old has been rewarded with an enhanced deal as he heads towards his first full season in County Durham.
“We’re delighted that Connor is going to be with us in 2023/24,” said boss Jamie Chandler.
“He is an exciting young player who we are keen to support and develop because we’re seen since he joined the Club that he possesses good technical ability and a great appetite for the game.
“I am sure Connor will continue to work hard and look to add to his creativity and goals to help the team succeed.”
