The Club would like to offer fans a further update following negotiations with several members of the playing squad over recent weeks.

Unfortunately, we have been unable to agree terms with John Lufudu and Joe Tait, which means that both players will leave the Football Club this summer.

We are disappointed that it has not been possible to extend their stays at The Brewery Field, but we thank both of them for their excellent service to the Club and wish them every success in the future.

“We have been in negotiations with the lads for a few weeks now but unfortunately it has become clear that no agreement could be reached,” said boss Jamie Chandler.

“Joe has been with us a long time and it’s sad to see him leave after everything he’s been through with the Club over the years, and we all know how popular John was with his teammates and fans.

“However, this is part and parcel of football, so there are no hard feelings from our point of view, and we wish them both the best as they move on to pastures new and we thank them for their efforts.

“There is always work going on in our recruitment department in terms of a succession plan. I’m really excited about the progress we’re making, and we hope to have more announcements for the fans soon.”
