Front man Paul Blackett has completed a move to South Shields for an undisclosed fee.
The striker joined Moors from Gateshead at the beginning of November and went on to make 30 appearances in all competitions, scoring 12 goals along the way.
However, newly promoted Shields submitted a formal bid which met the release clause in the 25-year-old’s contract and Blackett was keen to explore the chance to return to full-time football.
“We would like to thank Paul for his efforts during the short time he was with us,” said Moors’ Head of Football, Jason Ainsley.
“His goals very nearly helped us get into the play-offs last season and we’re sorry to see him leave because not only is he a fantastic footballer but he’s a great lad as well.
“Unfortunately, with South Shields meeting his buy-out clause and Paul wanting to get back into full-time football, the management team felt that we could not stand in his way.
“We wish Paul every success at South Shields and in his future career, and now our attentions will turn to ensuring we find the right replacement to come into the Club ahead of the new season.”
Blackett’s move to South Shields is subject to the usual clearance from The Football Association and National League.
