Neve Jackson Signs For Moors Ladies

Moors Ladies have clinched a second summer signing after Chester-le-Street United captain Neve Jackson put pen to paper on a switch to The Brewery Field.

The 22-year-old centre-back has been on the books at Chester-le-Street for almost 14 years but has now opted to take on a fresh challenge by joining Moors following their promotion to the Premier Division.

A leader on and off the pitch, Jackson is a whole-hearted defender who is strong and physical in her approach to the game and brings great experience to the Moors squad despite her relatively tender years.

“Neve is an excellent signing for us,” said Moors Ladies boss Billy Shackleton.

“She fits the bill perfectly for how Brent (Smithson, Assistant Manager) and I want to play the game.

“I think it speaks volumes about what we are building that we have managed to pull Neve away from her old club and persuade her to sign for Spennymoor Town Ladies.

“On too many occasions last season we need to pull together a bit of a makeshift backline but Neve’s presence, experience and physicality will help us out brilliantly in that department.

“She is also an excellent person and character to have in the changing room so know she’s going to fit right in and hit the ground running.”
