Caitlin Bates Joins Moors Ladies

Moors Ladies have moved to further strengthen their squad ahead of the new season with the exciting signing of versatile attacker Caitlin Bates.

The 26-year-old offers vast experience of NERWFL Premier Division football having played at the level for a number of seasons with the likes of Hartlepool United, South Shields and Farsley Celtic.

A talented forward who can operate on either flank or in a more central attacking role, Bates is known for her positive play in possession, her delivery from set-pieces and her keen eye for goal.

“She will bring real experience to our squad and add goals,” said boss Billy Shackleton.

“It’s quite a big deal for us to be able to sign a player of Caitlin’s calibre; I know she’s had interest from other clubs, but we’re delighted that she’s chosen Spennymoor.

“She can play in a number of positions, is always positive on the ball and can create chances as well as scoring so we know we have a really good player on our hands, and we can’t wait to work with her.”

Bates becomes the fourth signing of the summer for newly promoted Moors Ladies following the arrivals of Beth Enguita from Durham Cestria and Sophie Miller and Neve Jackson from Chester-le-Street United.
