Spennymoor Town v Tamworth
National League North
Saturday 12th August 2023, 3pm
The Brewery Field

The Opposition
Tamworth are playing their first away game back at National League North level following their promotion as Southern League Premier Division Central champions last term.

Their opening fixture could hardly have been a bigger challenge when they hosted title favourites Scunthorpe United, eventually succumbing to a 2-1 defeat to The Iron.

However, that won’t have dented the confidence of Andy Peaks and his players too much, especially after a wonderful 2022/23 which saw them clinch their return to the sixth tier for the first time since 2018.

Previous Meeting
Saturday’s game will be the first meeting between the two sides since the 2017/18 campaign when The Lambs took a point from a 1-1 draw on their last visit to The Brewery Field in January 2018.

Team News
Keenan Ferguson missed last weekend’s game with a knee problem but has now returned to training and James Curtis is also hoping to return to contention to face Tamworth.

Match Officials
James Bancroft will take charge of Saturday’s National League North meeting with Tamworth, and he will be assisted by Paul Mosley and Stephen Birkett.

Tickets
